Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is staying at Old Trafford, according to his agent Silvano Martina.Serbian defender Vidic, 29, has been linked with a move to Serie A side Juventus, but speaking to Italian radio, Martina quashed any talk of a transfer.
“I talked to him about a hypothetical transfer and he replied, ‘I am the captain of Manchester United, earning well, I’ve won almost everything,” Martina said.
“Why should I go to Italy right now, when Italian football is going through a turbulent period?,'” Martina told Radio Sportiva.
“He’s a player that everyone wants. This response removes any doubt about where his future lies – he stays where he is.”
Vidic, who captained Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to a 19th English top-flight title this season, joined United from Spartak Moscow in January 2006.
He signed a new four-year contract last August just as he was expected to leave the club, with Real Madrid the touted as a possible destination.
